Pavilion Cricket

Game Title: Pavilion Cricket

Publisher: Pavilion Games.

Year: 1990.

Mechanism: Dice rolling, tables and very, very detailed lists of players of all sorts from Test teams to county and state teams.

Description: One of my favourite cricket games from the past 20 years. Someone has obviously spent a huge amount of time on this, and the mechanism is really good. It falls short in terms of a logical approach to weather, pitch, extras and a few other areas, but with a few tweaks could be a top class game. It describes 4 different types of bowlers and about 15 or so batsmen. With a bit of work this could be a classic…

Hi Lee, will provide some more images and commentary soon. It’s an “okay” game (if IC is 9/10 then this one is around 6/10). However, I think with a little work it could become very very good. I’m keen to find the original publisher to see if he won’t make it open source/free so that people can add to it if they like.

I saw this first on eBay about 18 months ago, lost the auction, and then had to wait all this time to get one, which I picked up for only £5!

If anyone who read the blog knows the creator pls. let me know.

Do you have any more details on this game. Always on the look out for a good cricket game. International Cricket is the best sports sim on the market in my opinion but would like details of this one.
