Games for Sale

Cricket board games have been produced almost as long as the game itself has been in existence. Even today at least one new game per year is produced. Many of them come and, just as quickly, go. This list is updated occassionally, and contains all games that I can currently find on sale. If you find others let me know by contacting me here.

Minden Playing Card Cricket
Well, what can we say? It’s fabulous, but we would say that because the people behind this site publish it. That aside, it’s a detailed replication of Test Match cricket, with lots of advanced player cards.

Wicked Wickets
I’ve only had the chance to demo this for a couple of hours one Saturday afternoon, but from what I saw this is a cracker of a game. A well designed, innovative gaming mechanic, I suspect that unless the owners bite the bullet and produce a low cost version (it currently costs in excess of £500) few will get to experience this subtle, wonderful cricket game.

International Cricket
Another cracker of a game, especially if uber detailed replay sports games are you bag. Masses of player cards to purchase and an exceptional weather and pitch add on to buy. The same site offers various other cricket games which are also worth a look.
Publisher: Owzat Games and Lambourne Games.

Runs on the Board
This one appeared on the market in 2009. High quality components and great two player entertainment. While conceptually very similar to the 70s classic, Capri Knock Out Cricket, we shouldn’t hold that against it as it stands on its own as one of the better contemporary cricket board games.

Lords of Cricket
I wanted to really like this game. It contains high quality components, allows you to play any of the four forms of the game – Test, ODI, T20 and Backyard! – and is obviously a labour of love. As I say, I really want to like it … but the game play is just not there. But I strongly suggest you give it a try yourself and, if you disagree, let me know.

Stumps
A new kid on the block from early 2011. I haven’t played it so if you buy it, let me know what you think.
